Eurovision song contest is an annual event uniting a continent through competition. Eurovision shows us how humans choose to identify with their nationality, as-well as beautiful pieces of art. In context of Albania, this contest holds great significance. Albania is a country currently in close contention to join the EU, so their presence at Eurovision is very important to them. Before starting to learn about Eurovision all I saw was an entertaining music show. Ive grown up half my life in the UK so I would just mindlessly support them while my granny and mum would try to get me to pay attention. I now have seen a little glimpse into the external significance this contest holds. It goes far beyond the beautiful shows and talented performers, and that is what I hope to highlight in this blog.
